Have you tried Groupon.com for your city yet?   Groupon negotiates discounts on popular local items or events in your area.  They offer deals to their subscribers through emails.  The deals then get activated when enough people have purchased (I've never seen a deal NOT go through).  It's easy to purchase and redeem your Groupon.  Just select your city and wait for the deals to come to you.  If you know you will be visiting another city/state soon; you can purchase Groupons for that location in advance.  Most of the Groupons are good for a year after purchase.  I recently purchased 5 Bikram yoga classes for $20 and I was able to redeem it online on the company's website.  Here are a few of the  recent deals in my area:
