Haul Time

As I state in my previous post, I was looking for clothes that were more appropriate for a business casual environment.  I was having a hard time finding pieces I wanted.  I personally like dress pants that have a wide or full leg and apparently those are hard to come by.  Therefore, I had to get over it and succumb to the trend of a straight and short leg.  This notion scared me as I am a full figured woman with hips and was not sure what that style would look like on my body type.  Any who, I took a trip to the outlets.

I ended up walking away with about seven pairs of pants, a blazer, and a backpack.  All in all the straight short leg pants did not look too bad on me.  However, in a couple of styles I had to go up one size in order for them to look the way I wanted.

All accept one pair of pants had the straight and short legs.  The top I purchased was a blazer from the Ann Taylor outlet store.  Here are links to some of the items I purchased from Loft: Gingham Pants, Cotton Sailor Pants.  Unfortunately, none of the items are available online at Ann Taylor.

The leather backpack pictured above was a gift purchased from Wilson's Leather.  I was in need of a bag I could use when I travel that could hold my laptop, wallet, etc.  I hate going through the airport with both a purse and a laptop bag.  So this backpack will allow me to take everything I need in one bag.

What have you purchased lately?

Things I'm Obsessed With

I recently started a new job and am in desperate need of some new business casual attire.  My old job was a very casual relaxed environment in which I wore jeans every single day!  Therefore, I have been trying to go shopping.  I say "trying" because I am having a hard time finding what I am looking for.  I have been stalking all of the websites and some stores and found nothing.  People still dress up don't they?  Anyway, while I was paging through the latest edition of Elle magazine I stumbled across some sunglasses and a suede skirt that I am obsessed with.  I am not certain of the brand for the skirt; however, I will be looking for a similar one online.

These glasses are Ralph Lauren Automotive Leather Sunglasses.  I love these and think they will be timeless.  You can purchase them here.  I know these sunglasses will not help me with my quest for business attire but I feel in love with them as soon as I saw them.  They come in other colors as well.

Again, I am not certain who the designer of this skirt is.  However, I like the color and love that it appears to have an unfinished seem.  This is a picture from a Nordstrom ad.  I checked their website and so far I have not found the skirt but I will.

One other accessory I am obsessed with lately is the Givenchy Antigona in Medium.  I have been looking for a new bag and think this would be perfect.  It is roomy enough to hold all of my crap and it has a classic look.

What things are you obsessed with?  Where do you find business casual attire?  Help!

Visons of OTKB & Gladiators

So, I am considerably late to the over the knee the boot party. Ever since they first hit the scene I have been wanting a pair. It seems like every time I set out to purchase a pair I either could not find what I liked, wanted, and could afford in my size or I was distracted by something else. I know its spring but I recently amped up my search for a pair in hopes I could find a pair I liked on sale. Below are a few pair I found online:

For those of you who cannot bare to think of boots when Spring has sprung, I am also in the market for a pair of Gladiator boots. Here are some I came across in my search:

What are you looking forward to purchasing?

Working On My Fitness

Sorry for the delayed post and lack of pictures.  My camera has gone to rest in peace RIP.  So I have been doing some research on my a replacement.  However, until I get a new camera I still wanted to update you on my progress.  I have been exercising at least three days a week since the end of January.  The last time I weighed myself which was about 3 weeks ago I had not lost one pound! The good news is that my health has improved as my glucose levels were good and my blood pressure was normal.  Not losing weight has not discouraged me as my workouts have continued.  I have increased my workouts to about four days a week now.  Two days I do an overall body workout that encompasses weights and cardio.  The other two days I do Zumba which is much more fun than the treadmill.

In addition, to exercise I have also been watching what I eat.  Although I have been eating mostly salads and fish I do not deny myself of anything I want.  I do it in moderation.  For example, I went out with friends recently and I had a couple of cocktails as well and spinach dip and lettuce wraps.  Therefore, on occasion I will allow myself a cheat meal so to speak.

Hopefully I will decide on a camera soon and can post pictures.  In the mean time I will continue to update you as I can.  How is everyone working on their fitness?

Hello 2015!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone is having an amazing 2015 thus far.  I have several goals for this year that include updating my blog regularly and losing weight.  I have already be working on new posts for the blog as well as working on a plan to not just lose weight but also get healthy.  I realize that I am a person that really does not enjoy working out; however, it is something that I must do as eating healthy alone is just not enough.  In the next coming weeks in addition to my other posts, I will be posting my fitness progress.   Therefore, I need your help!  I am reaching out to you all to keep me accountable.  In my first fitness blog, I will post before pictures and fill you in on my plan to a healthier me.

What's in My Purse - 2014 Edition

Happy Holidays to everyone.  I hope you all had an amazing holiday with family and loved ones!  Now let's get into this foolishness that I am going to leave behind in 2014.  I have been carrying the same bag for about 12 years.  However, this is not as big a problem as what I have been carrying around in this bag.  I used to change my bag often depending on my outfit.  However, the older I got the less I felt like doing that to be honest.  I purchased this bag many years ago during a shopping trip to New York City.  It has a bucket bag style and has held up over the years.

As you can see there is nothing particularly special about this bag except its black and big which means it goes with pretty much everything and it can hold all of my stuff.  The stuff you see in my purse I carry around everyday.  Some of it is not needed.  For example, I do not know why have three wallets and all of those napkins (they are clean).

The style of the bag (and unnecessary items) make it difficult to find anything you need in the bag.  Not shown in the picture above are my house and car keys and my umbrella which I also carry everyday rain or shine.  Any who I have decided that in 2015 I am only going to carry what I need in my purse.  Does anyone else carry around a lot of unnecessary items in their purse?
